Moncton - Trade deadline day has come and go, the 9th annual event yeilded some interesting deals, but none that were considered block buster. The one deal that could be considered blockbuster was one involving Bathurst and South Esk. The South Esk Scotsmen seems poised to take their franchise to the next step in aquiring Rob DiMaio as a rental in a deal that also sent Oleg Tverdovsky and 2 draft picks to them in return the Scotsmen send travelled LW Markus Naslund and team favorite Darcy Tucker and a pick to the Titan.
Other deals that went down as as follows:
- The Bathurst Titan send Rob DiMaio, Oleg Tverdovsky, MOO S9 Rnd1, TIG S10 Rnd2 and $5,000,000 cash to the South-Esk Scotsmen in exchange for Markus Naslund, Darcy Tucker and BAT S9 Rnd2
- The Bathurst Titan send Eric Desjardins to the Dungarvin Whoopers in exchange for Jay More
- The Bathurst Titan send Al Iafrate to the South-Esk Scotsmen in exchange for Shawn Anderson
- The Saint John Barbarians send Brian Benning to the Tignish Aces in exchange for $750,000 cash
- The Tignish Aces send Ed Courtenay and Luc Robitaille to the Saint John Barbarians in exchange for Jody Hull, Paul Ranheim and $2,000,000 cash
- The Shediac Smurfs send Eric Weinrich to the Saint John Barbarians in exchange for $2,000,000 cash
