Riverview - The Wildcats GM and owner Jeff Nagle recently decided to investigate how some GMs in the ASHL had keen negotiating skill and through asking a friend of a friend of a friend, he found his answer. Contracts R Us, based out of Toronto was hosting seminars on how to negotiate contracts with top performing athletes at a pro level. The week long seminar explored such options as how to treat your players, what kind of mints to serve at the negotiating table and how to pitch your voice when presenting offers.
"I am very happy with the knowledge I learned, and I hope that my new skills will help me keep our players happy and get them to sign reasonable contracts. It was the best money I ever spent" said GM Jeff Nagle.
The Wildcats are under the gun this season with many of the teams defencemen and goalies up for the contract and with no end in site with negotiations the GM had to do something. |
