SHAKE-UP IN HARCOURT
Posted: 9/3/2004 By "SCOOP" Wilson HARCOURT HERALD

In a press conference today, the Harcourt Hitmen`s GM Earl Martin announced that the organization is still in a rebuild even after the surprisingly successful season last year.  Martin went on to say "We have been very dissappointed with the lack-luster performance of this seasons team, so nobody is above being moved!"

Showing Martins commitment to long term improvement of the Hitmen, he announced a deal with The Bathurst Titans.  A deal which sends up and comer d-man Vladimir Malakhov and Meteors goaltender Olaf Kolzig to the Titans for highly touted young prospect goaltender Marc Denis, as well as the St. John Barbarians season 10 first round pick.  Malakhov has been a dissapointing -8 on the season was in shock when this reporter asked him about his reactions to the deal and he could only respond "This was the first I heard about it!"

Martin went on to praise the work ethic of the young Denis, and went on to say "We have invested alot in Denis and we feel he will step up to become one of the league elite goalies in due time."  Martin continued to say " The fans deserve better than we have been putting on the ice this season thus far, the situation will be rectified as soon as possible."

This reporter, as well as many fans say that in the short term this will be a hard pill to swallow, but should ensure equality hockey in seasons to come.

This is your roving reporter "SCOOP" Wilson, signing off saying to you keep your sticks on the ice and may your pucks tickle the twine.
