About
The Atlantic Simulated Hockey League is a fantasy hockey league that is run by 14 local GMs. All the teams in the ASHL are based in the Atlantic Canadian region. 12 of the 14 GMs live locally in the Atlantic region with GMs based in Alberta and Quebec. Each offseason a general managers meeting is held in person (with the 2 outbound GMs joining via internet). These face-to-face meetings are what truely makes the ASHL the most unique fantasy hockey league in the country. The element of friendship is what fuels the league with competition and unprecidented interest.

The ASHL was formed in July, 2001 as a league of 8 teams. Interest quickly grew and in 2 months the league grew to 12 teams. Later on 2 more teams were added and the league became a 14 team league (where it stands today).

The current roster state has been stable since July 2003 when a league wide re-draft using rosters based from 89-90 NHL rosters was chosen. Since then the league has experienced it's most rapid growth.

The ASHL's success is based truely on the GMs who make up the league, until this strong interest deminishes, the league will continue to operate.
