Colin White traded to BathurstASHL Press - In what seemed out of the blue a trade frenzy errupted over the weekend where a total of 5 trades were pulled off.

The headliner trade was one involving defenceman Colin White and a future second raound draft choice going to the Saint John Barbarians from South Esk in exchange for defenceman Tom Poti and prospect winger Scott Brownlee. White is widely considered one of the best bargain defencemen in the league and his presense alongside super defecenceman Chris Pronger gives the Barbarians a legitimate shot at a Stanley Cup.

After aquiring another all star quality defenceman, the Barbarians shipped off little used defenceman Wade Redden to the Bathurst Titan in echange they got pesky winger Martin St Louis. St Louis has been reportedly awaiting a trade after asking Titan management to either give him top line minutes or deal him.

Other deals include Riverview sending Sergei Federov to the Aces in exchange for cash, Saint John sending cash to the Hitmen in exchange for Greg Johnson and Bathurst Titan shoring up their defence by dealing defenceman Matias Ohlund to Dungarvin for defenceman John Slaney and prospect Mark Ashton.

Many would believe that this was the trade deadline, but it is not. The ASHL trade deadline is not scheduled until next Monday, July 24th.
