Brad May takes on George LaRauque

It was beginning to hurt the team.  Everyone could feel it, but only Brad May could do anything about it, and he did.  Signing yesterday for the absolute best deal the Scotsmen could have offered, Brad May is headed to Victoria were he will make 1/10 th his current salary which will not count towards the cap.  He also will not be traded from his only ASHL team ever, and can not be bought out.

May has played 17 seasons with the Scotsmen organization, 13 in South Esk.  A skilled enforcer, he combined 256 goals and 347 assists with 2385 hits, 2103 PIM and 1678 shots including 49 power play goals and 39 game winners.  He had a 15-4-17 fight record with 19 game ejections.  He won two Boom Boom Geoffrion awards, was a part of two Stanley Cups and played in 5 ASHL All-Star games.  This 6’2” 202 lb bruiser did it all in South Esk and was adored by fans.

The move coming just over a week before the playoffs was made by Brad to allow depth to be brought up from Victoria to beef up for the playoffs.  Mike Rathje and Vaclav Prospal are expected to join the Scotsmen while May heads to Victoria.
