The Riverview Royals announced today that they have come to an agreement on a 7 year, $29.4 million extension ($4.2 million AAV) with 20-year-old forward Dave Andreychuk. The deal will kick in next season and will keep the franchise blue-chip forward a royal until season 23.
"It really didn't take a long time to hammer out a deal, Dave and his representatives were very open and upfront as to their intentions to sign here long time. We just had to come to a value that worked for everyone. We're very excited to have Dave as an anchoring player for a very long time." said GM Nagle.
The young forward was very open about his desire to stay with the Royals for the long haul, "This is the team that drafted me, worked with me and poured a lot of confidence in me. I had no desire to go anywhere else and look forward to making this team a winner!" said the young Andreychuk.
