The ODBHL has a long history. Starting in 1998, "the league" as it has been affectionately known has lasted the test of time -with breaks in between. A hobby, distraction, a simple game to occupy our minds, a reason to gather as friends, "the league" has been a small but important part of our lives.

NBSHL - New Brunswick Simulated Hockey League

Circa 1998, used Hockey League Simulator 2

The NBSHL is where it all began. Internet in people's homes was just beginning, and the only communication we had then was email. Three of the GM's that started here continue to be in our current league.

NFHL - New Fantasy Hockey League

Circa 2001, used Fantasy Hockey League Simulator (FHL Sim)

The NFHL was when our league became more serious. With new chat programs such as ICQ, and a website that was built using new technologies, we were better able to communicate to make trades, etc.

ASHL - Atlantic Simulated Hockey League

Circa 2003, used Fantasy Hockey League Simulator (FHL Sim)

As interest grew, so did the complexities of the league. We had built AI into the league site to negotiate contracts with players, a complete scouting system, and a very complex and realistic re-rate system.

ASHL - Atlantic Simulated Hockey League (new website)

Circa 2006, used Fantasy Hockey League Simulator (FHL Sim)

Because we were moving so quickly, our website had to evolve right along with us.

ASHL - A Simple Hockey League

Circa 2007, used SimonT Hockey Simulator

After a year-long hiatus, we decided to give it another go, this time using a new simulator, SimonT Hockey Simulator. Interest wasn't there and the league folded after one season.
