Andrei Svechnikov has been one of the most dynamic point producers in the ODBHL throughout his career. The 25-year-old forward was a key player in the Bathurst Angry Ducks two-cup dynasty and rode shotgun to Connor McDavid's offensive machine. Three weeks ago the Riverview Royals management called out the young forward, pushing him to "do more." Well, Andy has responded.
In the 11 games since that article was published, Svechnikov has exploded with 2 goals and 12 assists in 11 games, only going pointless in one of those games. The Russian took the criticism to heart and pushed himself to play less of a goalscoring threat and instead deferred to linemate Jesper Bratt who has been enjoying a breakout season.
"Andy has come through, just like I knew he would. He is a pro's pro and a savvy team player. It was only a matter of time that he got his numbers back to what is normal for him and what we knew he is capable of." said GM Nagle.
