"The best offense is a good offense!" - Jeff Nagle
The Riverview Royals doubled down this morning acquiring defenseman Brady Skjei from the Bathurst Angry Ducks and forward Taylor Hall from the Albert County Renegade.
Skjei, 33, is a stay-at-home defenseman with some offensive upside. He'll line up alongside youngster Kaiden Guhle on the third pairing. The reliable defenseman has played 763 games over 10 seasons with the Moncton Melons, Oromocto Senators, Miramichi Moose, and the Bathurst Angry Ducks. He was a mainstay with the Moncton Melons playing there for 6 seasons.
Hall, 36, is a fading superstar player who has had a very prolific career over the past 10 season. He has lined up with many of the league's great teams and is still searching for his first ODBHL Cup. With 653 points over 751 games, his offensive game will be a treat on the team's 3rd line, lining up with Ryan Johansen and Brock Boeser.
"These were obviously some depth moves that are aimed to give us even more options on the third line. I am excited to see how Hall plays with Johansen and BB, he's still an elite forward having a bounce back season, and I think he will be a great fit for us. Brady fills a big need on the third pairing with Kaiden. We needed someone who was responsible in his own end, yet, isn't afraid to jump in on a rush. Our third line is one, if not the best third lines in the league. We're all set now for a long run." said GM Nagle.
