Moving Monty today gave us three more prospects, on top of a goaltender that we can rely on in Veini. It was a hard deal to make on an emotional level, but you can't run a team on emotions." said GM Nagle.

Today's move gives the Royals two first round picks in the upcoming draft. In a draft featuring a lot of defensive players, it's clear that GM Nagle is following a similar build as he had previously. With two firsts, the Royals have a good chance of drafting either Phil Hously, or Chris Chelios with their own pick, and perhaps picking up a tough defenseman like Brooks Orpik with the later Cains River pick.

With Stephane Yelle, the Royals pick up a future penalty killer. The 18 year old was drafted by the Blues with the 15th overall pick in last offseason's draft. He is a defensive specialist who is very raw around the edges. A far cry from making a pro roster anytime soon, Yelle is another ticket in the prospect development lottery.
